My 87 year old father-in-law has gone through this for 10 years. His DD-214 and other records were destroyed in the huge "fire" in 1973 in St Louis MO. that destroyed the records of 18 million servicemen. Getting a replacement is almost impossible. He was able to eventually get another document that was supposed to clear the way for his benefits into he future, but not every VA facility is aware of this and they still give him a hard time.

I'm here for you, i am going through the same thing, i'm 75 and all my friend are either gone or i can't find them, i have the same letters i appealed my deniles and i had to resubmit on a different form, yet i talked to the VA in Washington, Verginia etc, i have told them that i am appealing. i have a room full of letters from the VA that i cant find anything anymore, the Pact Act has put me through two months of Mental, physical, personal hell with questions, i have my wife of 54 years who has seen my health decline and my mental states fall apart, she is willing to testify but the VA has refused to use her testimony, i have just about given up, thanks my brother for puting the VA on notice, those words are the sa.e words ive heard. There must be a pre- written script the VA goes by! Very sad that with an HONORABLE decorated service the illegals get better benifts than a Vet.

Got rated at 30% for ptsd. I feel like thats a little low for how I feel on a good day. Tried talking to a VA shrink and he basically told me that since I wasn't killing myself with drugs with and alcohol he didn't think I had a problem and should be happy with the 30%.

I was told my medical records were lost. 1978. This went on for ever. The strange thing is the VA was treating me. I kept waiting for the claim process to work. And they were kept saying that they sent me a letter. I find out the VSO never sent anything. He started because they had no record of the problems. In 2019. I received a call from the VA That my medical records were found. Not all but the main thing I started. Then I had to wait for a VBA hearing. Then they demanded a Nexus letter. Now a C&P exam? I will die in Casablanca before they fix there crap.

I have a 40% rating for degen disc disease of lumbar spine and bilateral lower limb radiculopathy at 10%. My doctor stated I have arthritis in my lumbar spine. Can they be filed as a secondary to DDD ot is that pyramiding?

Your firm has had my appeal since 2014 and found many many mistakes where they violated their own regulations and some laws. It's been in DC since August 2021 awaiting a judge. A few months ago I called and asked about "ballparking" an average timeline and whichever attorney or assistant it was (Matthew Hill is my main one), they mentioned " we've seen most reach the judge after around 3 years once received by a DC judge." Well, years after delays of Covid and VA stalling, On Friday, I saw where a judge now has it for review. First of all, good call! 👍👋🙏 I'm calling tomorrow to ask this question and where to send my documents showing I have had a workplace accommodation to work remotely full time as related to my PTSD case. If needed, it should help support my case. The question is, once a case is received by a DC judge, what is the average time it takes to be resolved? I definitely jumped a little when I saw that status change after 3 years. For other folks, one example of VA "stalling" or just being incompetent (or both) was that my appeal was filed the same day in 2014 after they reduced my rating from 100% to 50% after 12 years. In 2018, they closed my appeal saying I "didn't file an appeal in time" in which H&P reopened because they saw where I had filed the day after. VA also reduced my SC after only 1 exam, which I found from H&P that it was against the VA's own regs. So those of you who don't have outside representation, trust me, you need it. As for my case, after the dust settles and my bills are paid, I'd gladly do a segment on my case. If I recall, one of you said it was on the worst VA-handled cases you had ever seen. That's me-breaking barriers lol.

I had a MDD C&P and my examiner was really bland and just went down thr DBQ list. I was expecting some more digging into my mental health but my mental health history is very lengthy and extensive. Took all of maybe 20 minutes. I only gave him the information he asked for. He didn't ask much.

It all boils down to the examiner. They are either on your side or they aren’t. I learned that first hand at my last one.

I reported one to Optum, but I doubt anything will ever happen. Several false inputs on the DBQ and she was trying her best to find an answer to put less likely then not. She couldn’t, so she wrote bogus rom, said she used a goniometer (she didn’t) and wrote I stated something that I didn’t say.

It is like a magic spell that if you don't say or do the right things at the right moment then you don't get the outcome you were told would happen... it's a gamble if we don't know exactly what they want from us that day. Even if you do what someone else suggested or do what they did, you may not get what they got.

8 months after I returned, my entire back skin got super dry and scaley to the point my g/f had to put lotion on it constanrltly for a few weeks, then it went away. My back only We were exposed to burn pits, diesel fuel in kerosene heaters in tents. I had Anthrax vaccines twice. Both times we were told it was experimental, not approved for humans, don't tell anyone, and not to record it in our records. If we refuse, Article 15 and forced vax anyway. We still tecorded them. Fast forward to Corona, working for the Feds, yet another forced vax (twice). I'm tired of it. Why doesn't "my body, my choice" apply here? I haven't gotten a restful's night sleep in decades, I have to take meds to get a light sleep. Sleep study "unspecified sleep disturbance" but was denied a claim. I have chronic fatgue still and VA says my weight gain is the cause while I argue that CFS caused that as well. As for pills, those were called PB pills (not lead) to boost our immune systems against Soman-something Hussein was never kmown to.use. However, it made us morw susceptible to Sarin gas, which the entire theater was exposed to. I never see anyone discuss that. Yes, we are presumed exposed to Sarin nerve agent on some level because of our upper command's stupidity. Reseacrh it. I was close enough to that bunker that I could see the horizon light up in an area in the distance.

Ive been 100%, they finnagled my ratings, increased my ptsd to 100, and onece I hit over seven years of 100 ptsd, they reduced me to 70. Im owed backpay for over a year, for two dependents. I missed an appointment because they cannot get into contact with me. Im the international, I'm refusing to live in The USA, and I'm turning 40 in a couple of months.

That is classic VA corruption. The military poisoned us with PFAS chemicals and deny us compensation when we get sick 10 or 20 years later. Many die before the VA accepts responsibility. Camp Lejeune is nothing compared to many other installations. They want evidence the VA doctors refuse to give us. They wont even test your blood for contamination but say you have been screened. What a joke.
